Poetry Conspiracy at the Green Bean Cafe

It was a cold November night, and the cafe was full of eclectic guests who were eating and chatting away. That is, until the Green Bean conspirators captured their attention.

The Green Bean Conspirators went up onstage and gave lively literature and slam poetry readings in the Green Bean Cafe at 6 p.m. on November 13. The event is led by Dr. Andre Narbonne and Faizal Forrester, student writer in residence, and composed of second-year students from Narbonne’s class in the 26-203 Creative Writing Program.

The five students who read were: Coryl Addy, Izza Eirabie, Julian Del Bel Belluz, Autumn Tousignant and Samantha Badaoa. Each performance took 5 to 10 minutes, tackling topics and issues such as conformity, identity and gender. The students gave heartfelt performances that earned, followed by  applause, chuckles and tears.
