The Clock Strikes Twelve For The Doctor

YES, I AM A BIT LATE TO THE PARTY (OR MOURNING, FOR THAT MATTER), BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN OUT FOR THE DAY. I SHOULD LEARN HOW TO QUEUE MY POSTS AND I WILL IN THE FUTURE.

But today, BBC aired the Doctor Who Christmas Special, The Time of the Doctor. This hour-long episode features the answers to most of the elements from the 11th Doctor’s arc: the silence will fall, the crack in the universe, and the question he’s always been running away from; DOCTOR WHO?

A note from me that this episode, although not perfect, does tug (more like rip) at heartstrings and draws from emotion and nostalgia on previous companion, Amy Pond’s, arc. The fairytale allusion Moffat has made throughout this arc just becomes so apparent that the episode even uses a fairytale-like narration from the beginning.  I mean seriously, all three years he’s probably waited to put that punchline to that story.

Personal note here that Matt Smith’s 11th Doctor is the first Doctor I’ve seen, and ever watched an episode from, so yes, I am a LOT saddened by his regeneration and just the way the episode was set up, I personally think the regeneration fits with the whole fairytale arc. I won’t do spoilers in this review/announcement. I probably won’t do a decent review, but I could type up some commentary on why I think these things. If this pain in my heart caused by 11 will go away.
